Skin Condensers

Bundy’s skin condensers attach to the inside walls of the refrigeration appliance, where heat is expelled through the outer cabinet “skin”. They are specialist heat exchange components, engineered to maximise heat transfer as the refrigerant moves from a gas to a liquid state. Skin condensers comprise refrigerant tubes attached directly to the inner or outer surfaces of the appliance’s cabinet, where the external shell acts as a large fin to promote heat emission. This configuration allows heat to be expelled from the refrigerant into ambient air via the appliance’s own walls, supporting an efficient refrigeration cycle while keeping the appliance’s external design clean and low-profile.

Skin condensers are ideal for single-door and double-door refrigerators and chest freezers where a “clean back” or concealed condenser arrangement is favoured. They are frequently used in commercial chest freezers, upright freezers, pharmacy fridges, and catering units in hotels, restaurants, and medical facilities.
