Glued Evaporators

Bundy’s glued evaporators (also called foil-on-tube, sandwich evaporators or tube-on- plate) are engineered to provide efficient and cost-effective cooling performance for modern refrigeration systems by absorbing heat from the interior of the cabinet and transferring it to the circulating refrigerant. These evaporators are produced by bonding a serpentine aluminium tube securely to a flat aluminium plate, using either a layer of adhesive or a thin foil to create a large, efficient contact area for heat exchange. As refrigerant flows through the tube, it vaporises and absorbs heat from the surrounding air inside the fridge or freezer. This process lowers the temperature within the appliance, ensuring food and contents are kept at safe, cold storage conditions.

Glued evaporators offer excellent thermal transfer and mechanical stability, while maintaining a slim profile that suits integrated refrigerator or freezer designs. They are widely used in domestic fridge-freezers, undercounter units, and compact commercial cabinets.
