Bundy Refrigeration has expanded its operation in Brazil as part of a strategic growth plan, marked by major investment in cutting-edge plant and machinery.

In July last year, Bundy relocated its Maracanaú operation to a new state-of-the art factory and warehouse in the Distrito industrial district to be closer to its main customer. This move represented an investment of €500,000 and included a 1,200 sqm facility with an optimised layout that aligns with Bundy’s lean culture and production flow.

The new Maracanaú facility included a spark plug cell, creating 10 new jobs. The new cell has been established to produce high-quality spark plug electrodes to automatically light stoves and ovens. This marks Bundy’s return to the gas stoves market, where the company plans to cater for the wide use of these electrodes in residential, hospitality, catering, and outdoor cooking sectors, both in Brazil and export markets.

Wenceslau Carvalho, Bundy’s Vice President, Americas said: ‘Our substantial investment in new plant and equipment demonstrates that Bundy is gearing up to respond to market demand for high-quality, high-volume products. The spark plug electrodes cell is further evidence of our strategic expansion into the home appliances market.’
